Get Back to Puttering ~ It's Good For You!

Modern attitudes of getting the hustle on, being a 'Boss Chick or Dude', can get on one's nerves :() It's also counterproductive if that's your only focus, and the only focus is to gain attention, followers and as much money as possible.

[ Yep, too much brain - on, not enough brain - off! ]

This 'boss' thinking removes the humanity, the heart, the authenticity from daily work. It can also push us away from the plans God has for us because we're too busy to stop and spend time with him, to listen to connect spiritually. Our spiritual life suffers and eventually it spills over into our entire lives.

[ Goofing off ~ Get into it! It’s a brain Vtamin! ]

Puttering: moving or acting aimlessly, Yep, puttering could be just the elixir we need to break that cycle and allow us to reconnect with ourselves for better purposes...

The healthful thing about puttering is that it gives our busy and overloaded minds time off; a needed break in these day full of thoughts, doubts, fears and disillusionment.

[ Freida is a true 'free spirit'. Her spirit is freed from the slavery of being dead to the ways of the Lord! ]

Puttering is a treat for the spirit and a ‘day nap’ for the brain.🧠 But, let’s remember that puttering isn’t to be thought of as a chore, something you have to do, it’s something you choose to do.

[ Sunday loves loosening her mind with jigsaw puzzles, even during busy days. They allow her to reconnect with herself, to be still and have time with God too. ]

The world may see puttering as time wasting, but that’s because the world and it’s ways for living are skewed, flawed, upside down.

Let's learn to think of being efficient from God's perspective: Many of us use being busy or even claiming efficiency as a part of our identity. For some, it becomes their identity, using busyness to cover insecurities, fears and other feelings and things we can't control in our lives.

[ Getting Gods Word into our lives through the Bible and other inspirational works helps us to unsee the world's ways and clearly see God's ways. ]

But..it doesn't work. Being always - busy, claiming to be as 'efficient' as possible doesn't make us who we are, nor do these actions save, or heal us, they're only a mask. Challenging our ideas of busyness, or being uber 'efficient' can be intimidating and scary because we have to strip down and consider a new paradigm, one that provides us with REAL efficiency and identity.

“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” ~John 15:15

Getting into the word of God, understanding the way he desires us to live our lives is the only way we will gain a clear understanding of WHO we are and then HOW to better live, without society's narratives, and expectations guiding us.

Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. ~Psalm 143:8

[ Over the last year or so, I'm sure we've all felt like doing this! :() ]

Like an overloaded body, the brain when overloaded doesn’t work as well, it tires and needs a rest too. Resting by way of puttering is a usually best as a solo activity because interacting and talking with others is defeating the put-put purpose! Remember our brains are recharging!😆 [ but goofing off with kids, pets, friends is fun too! ] There’s no need to feel any guilt from this brain healthy mindful activity, and it reaps plenty of benefits such as:

Let’s begin building better habits for a healthier lifestyle! Our brains will be much happier and so will we.😌
