Not All Food Allergy Ingredients Are Safe-

Updated: Jul 19, 2022

Loving with food allergies can be frustrating and dangerous if an ingredient is overlooked that can cause an allergic response. I’ve hit a wall a couple times shopping in a rush ( and just really wanting to find a food substitute that tastes like food!🙄🤪) by missing an important off limit ingredient.

Mushroom extract is a hard NO for my respiratory system because mushrooms in ANY form are mold and an asthma trigger🥴. If you have mushroom allergies, even the inhalation of mushroom spores can cause allergy responses such as inflammation of the respiratory tract - oh, hello asthma🫤 watery eyes, wheezing, hives and anaphylaxis.

🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄- Just no reason for this ingredient

Torula Yeast, another ingredient that can trigger asthma because it’s just another form of MSG! Yep, the old switch and bait! Torula yeast is a byproduct of the paper industry🥴😵‍💫. It’s used to give foods a meaty flavor. 💁🏽‍♀️But…why does real chicken need a ‘meaty’ flavor, isn‘t MEAT?!🧐. Yeast Extract, another switch-a-roo is the same thing.

Its my hope that my very serious mistakes can benefit others.. If I‘m in a hurry I won’t buy foods that need a slow read, I’ll save those for when I can put in the time needed to be responsible for making the right choices for my health. Often the ingredient wording is too small or printed over too much color on the packaging. Use your phone to Magnify those words! Always read labels, and be your own backup and read them again when you get home. Save those receipts!👈🏽
