Dehumidifying For Asthma & Allergies

We don't have to succumb to dust mites, mildew and mold. Getting a home humidifier can help make breathing better again!

Dehumidifiers dry out the air we breathe and that helps keep those allergens we breath in from setting off - triggering - asthma and allergy/sinus flares. Dehumidifiers help because:

[ Don't let home humidity problems add more stress to your life - Conquer it like a boss! ]

Mold and mildew live in moist areas in our homes, areas like damp basements, underneath bathroom and kitchen sinks. Mold grows and spreads through tiny mold spores that float through the air.

Dust mites, the bane of allergic existence! These annoying bugs are the most common cause of asthma and allergy symptom triggers, and they just love high humidity. They like to reside in bedding, curtains, rugs - and be mindful of thick shag or fluffy rugs and other bedding because these materials are not easy to clean and are hiding spots for dust mites and hard to remove pet dander! - Dust mites can also live in the air in your home. Yikes!

Some symptoms you could experience are:

* Stuffy nose

* Wheezing and or Sneezing

* Itchy skin and eyes

Some signals that you are experiencing an over abundance of household humidity are:

* Musty Smells

* Rotting moldy wood

* Wet stains in ceilings and walls

* Stuffy temperature ( above 50% ) and feeling in the room

* Condensation on windows

Many of our households have at least one or more of these humidity issues and the more of them you have the more likely they can eventually trigger asthma and allergy symptoms.

Choosing a dehumidifier largely depends on your home size and budget.

* Small capacity humidifiers are portable so they can be moved from room to room and work well in smaller sized rooms.

* Large capacity humidifiers can also be portable but can handle a larger room size.

* Whole house humidifiers are built into a home's HVAC system.

These can be pricey, but if you or someone in your home has severe asthma or you live in a warm humid area, it may be worth considering. It's good that there are options for various budgets and needs, just do your research on the best dehumidifier for you and your family.
