Having The Courage To Live Against The Grain

[This big guy's got the right idea! Run run away from what we see in these troubled times! ]

I’ve written about the beatitudes before, but they require a consistent studying, meditating, and discussing because they are our blueprint for living - living opposite of the way this world lives.

“God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”

~Matthew 5:4

We’re all in a period of mourning, and many of us may not realize that we are supposed to be saddened, to mourn, to grieve;

“Blessed are they that mourn for sin, for their own sins; the sin of their nature...which is always working against them, and is a continual grief of mind to them.”

~Matthew 5:4

And blessed are those “who mourn for the sins of others, for the sins of this world, the profaned and wickedness that abound in it;

~John Gill

This kind of mourning is aligned with the Holy Spirit, it is a sorrow that is Godly, a humility of the spirit and mind. Focusing on our personal sins, grieving for our own change within, and praying for God to shift our thoughts and behavior, allows us to not become desensitized to sin in general. We've all heard the saying two wrongs don't make a right, well unfortunately, many are being deceived by the spiritual enemy that along with the belief that perceived wrongs end in justice; that's not justice, that's revenge.

[ Let's be better and not 'sink' into Satan's tricks and illusions. ]

Many things are being done in our world now, for misaligned reasons from beliefs built on quicksand. Ideas, and agendas with ulterior motives - from those who are far, far away from how God wants us to live, to react, to be... It can be easy for anyone who’s not aligned with God’s word, ways and desires for us to fall into the trap of misguided beliefs, anger actions and reactions that eventually lead to destruction and disillusionment. There is so much evidence of this in society in our current times...

Blessed are the gentle, because they will inherit the earth.

~Matthew 5:5

Blessed are the peacemakers, because they will see God.

~Matthew 5:10

It’s past time to turn away from man’s disillusionment and turn to our Heavenly Father for leadership and guidance, for hope for a better future.

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.

~Psalm 1:1

"Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."

~Romans 12:19

Taking the time to give our sorrows, anger, and confusion to the Lord helps us to keep heart and sound mind in these unsound times.
