Nourish: One of Our Front Line Defenders Against Illness Stress and Disease

Updated: 2 days ago

[ An herbal infusion made with goji berries, cinnamon stick, anise ,fennel, dried orange and

red clover herbal 'tea'.]

Life in our world nowadays is fraught with stress, viruses, infected foods, and more so it's imperative that we become our own front line defense to arm our body with immunity and strength to thrive and survive!

[ Green tea, with sautΓ©ed collard greens, butternut squash, carrots and pumpkin seeds and unsweetened shredded coconut. πŸ˜‹ ]

We as a people are more inflamed than ever now for many reasons ( medications, stress, processed food, poor quality food and food production, high sugar consumption, ...) and starting with simple nutrition puts a measure of control into our hands.

I've began posting simple nutrient dense meals and snacks, and drinks that I prepare regularly ( that don't break the bank ) to encourage and inspire, and to show that simple whole food eating doesn't have to be complicated or filled with a load of 'superfoods'.

[ Too much information can be confusing, let's keep it simple! πŸ˜‚]

Eating foods that heavily nourish can allow our cells to repair, and strengthen. Nourishing foods help to create an anti inflammatory environment in our body which makes protection and healing from illness more attainable. Think of nourishing foods as the right coding for our 'programs' - that being our cellular health!β˜ΊοΈπŸ’»

Let's go through 2024 with a leg 🦡 ⬆️up with our health!

[ This is one of those Chopped Salads in a bag - I really like the finely chopped ones☺️ with sourdough croutons. This is a cruciferous salad loaded with brussel sprouts, pumpkin seeds, cabbage, kale, and more. ].

Simple eats, dense nutrition πŸ™ŒπŸ½

Top left: Fresh cold pressed juice ( carrot πŸ₯• cucumber πŸ₯’ ginger 🫚 green apple 🍏)

Top middle: Mayo free tuna salad with olives πŸ«’ lemon πŸ‹ juice roasted red peppers 🌢️ and poultry seasoning

Top right: Dairy free pudding made from avocado πŸ₯‘ cacao powder 🍫 and canned coconut πŸ₯₯ milk

Bottom left: Chocolate avocado pudding topped with So Delicious coconut whipπŸ˜‹

Bottom middle: Beautiful colors of fruits and veg. Berry and dragon fruit powder smoothie with almond milk

Bottom right: Coconut yogurt bowl topped with raw pumpkin seeds, and fresh fruit

Foods loaded with fiber, minerals and other nutrients te body needs need not have to be made with crazy ingredients or hard to find items. The simplest meals, I find are easiest to digest.

I plan on continuing this series. Eating well also keeps on to of our brain health, and don’t our over taxed brains need the support?

The God said, β€œI give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. -Genesis 1:29

Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. - Genesis 9:3
